79:1By those who snatch violently.

79:2And those who remove gently.

79:3And those who glide smoothly.

79:4And those who race swiftly.

79:5And those who regulate events.

79:6On the Day when the Quake quakes.

79:7And is followed by the Successor.

79:8Hearts on that Day will be pounding.

79:9Their sights downcast.

79:10They say, “Are we to be restored to the original condition?

79:11When we have become hollow bones?”

79:12They say, “This is a losing proposition.”

79:13But it will be only a single nudge.

79:14And they will be awake.

79:15Has the story of Moses reached you?

79:16When His Lord called out to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa.

79:17“Go to Pharaoh—he has transgressed.”

79:18And say, “Do you care to be cleansed?

79:19And I will guide you to your Lord, and you will turn reverent.”

79:20He showed him the Greatest Miracle.

79:21But he denied and defied.

79:22Then turned his back, and tried.

79:23And gathered and proclaimed.

79:24He said, “I am your Lord, the most high.”

79:25So God seized him with an exemplary punishment, in the last and in the first.

79:26In this is a lesson for whoever fears.

79:27Are you more difficult to create, or the heaven? He constructed it.

79:28He raised its masses, and proportioned it.

79:29And He dimmed its night, and brought out its daylight.

79:30And the earth after that He spread.

79:31And from it, He produced its water and its pasture.

79:32And the mountains, He anchored.

79:33A source of enjoyment for you and for your animals.

79:34But when the Great Cataclysm arrives.

79:35A Day when man will remember what he has endeavored.

79:36And Hell will be displayed to whoever sees.

79:37As for him who was defiant.

79:38And preferred the life of this world.

79:39Then Hell is the shelter.

79:40But as for him who feared the Standing of his Lord, and restrained the self from desires.

79:41Then Paradise is the shelter.

79:42They ask you about the Hour, “When will it take place?”

79:43You have no knowledge of it.

79:44To your Lord is its finality.

79:45You are just a warner for whoever dreads it.

79:46On the Day when they witness it—as though they only stayed an evening, or its morning.
