Finding Solace: 7 Ayahs to Help You Through Hard Times

Life is a journey filled with ups and downs, joys, and challenges. During the difficult moments, turning to faith can provide comfort and strength. In the Islamic tradition, the Quran offers guidance and solace to those facing hardship. Here are seven ayahs (verses) from the Quran that can serve as a source of inspiration and support during tough times.

With hardship comes ease.

The Holy Quran · Ash-Sharh (The Consolation) · 94:5

Say, “Nothing will happen to us except what God has ordained for us; He is our Protector.” In God let the faithful put their trust.

The Holy Quran · At-Tawba (The Repentance) · 9:51

Say, “O My servants who have transgressed against themselves: do not despair of God’s mercy, for God forgives all sins. He is indeed the Forgiver, the Clement.”

The Holy Quran · Az-Zumar (The Groups) · 39:53

And do not waver, nor feel remorse. You are the superior ones, if you are believers.

The Holy Quran · Aal-i-Imraan (The Family of Imraan) · 3:139

We will certainly test you with some fear and hunger, and some loss of possessions and lives and crops. But give good news to the steadfast.

The Holy Quran · Al-Baqara (The Cow) · 2:155

Those who, when a calamity afflicts them, say, “To God we belong, and to Him we will return.”

The Holy Quran · Al-Baqara (The Cow) · 2:156

God does not burden any soul beyond its capacity. To its credit is what it earns, and against it is what it commits. “Our Lord, do not condemn us if we forget or make a mistake. Our Lord, do not burden us as You have burdened those before us. Our Lord, do not burden us with more than we have strength to bear; and pardon us, and forgive us, and have mercy on us. You are our Lord and Master, so help us against the disbelieving people.”

The Holy Quran · Al-Baqara (The Cow) · 2:286
