85:1By the sky with the constellations.

85:2And by the Promised Day.

85:3And by the witness and the witnessed.

85:4Destroyed were the People of the Trench.

85:5The fire supplied with fuel.

85:6While they sat around it.

85:7And were witnessing what they did to the believers.

85:8They begrudged them only because they believed in God the Almighty, the Praiseworthy.

85:9To Whom belongs the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. God is witness over everything.

85:10Those who tempt the believers, men and women, then do not repent; for them is the punishment of Hell; for them is the punishment of Burning.

85:11Those who believe and do righteous deeds will have Gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great triumph.

85:12The onslaught of your Lord is severe.

85:13It is He who begins and repeats.

85:14And He is the Forgiving, the Loving.

85:15Possessor of the Glorious Throne.

85:16Doer of whatever He wills.

85:17Has there come to you the story of the legions?

85:20And God encloses them from beyond.
