Creation of Galaxies and Stars

The Quran alludes to the creation of the night and daylight, the stars, constellations, and the “lamp” or “light” of the sun, giving an impression of a universe filled with a variety of celestial bodies. The reference indicates an awareness of astronomical features such as galaxies, stars, and the solar system that contain these elements.

It is He Who breaks the dawn. And He made the night for rest, and the sun and the moon for calculation. Such is the disposition of the Almighty, the All-Knowing.

We placed constellations in the sky, and made them beautiful to the beholders.

Blessed is He who placed constellations in the sky, and placed in it a lamp, and an illuminating moon.
