Origin of Life from Clay

The Quran suggests that humans and life were created from clay or mud. This idea posits a symbolic relationship between the Earth’s materials and the creation of life, which may be seen as a metaphor for the organic components forming the building blocks of living organisms.

وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِن صَلْصَٰلٍۢ مِّنْ حَمَإٍۢ مَّسْنُونٍۢ

We created the human being from clay, from molded mud.

وَمِنْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦٓ أَنْ خَلَقَكُم مِّن تُرَابٍۢ ثُمَّ إِذَآ أَنتُم بَشَرٌۭ تَنتَشِرُونَ

And of His signs is that He created you from dust; and behold, you become humans spreading out.
