Planets Orbits

The Quran mentions the orbits of celestial bodies, indicating that each has its own path of travel. It is implied that the sun, the moon, and other heavenly bodies are all in motion, which is consistent with our understanding of astrophysics that celestial objects move in orbits due to the force of gravity.

It is He who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon; each floating in an orbit.

The sun is not to overtake the moon, nor is the night to outpace the day. Each floats in an orbit.
