Formation of Earth

The Quran speaks about the creation of Earth in a manner that reflects its uniqueness and the establishment of life-supporting conditions. The verses imply a process of formation, a purposeful design governing Earth’s creation, and the provision of resources for its inhabitants.

۞ قُلْ أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَكْفُرُونَ بِٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلْأَرْضَ فِى يَوْمَيْنِ وَتَجْعَلُونَ لَهُۥٓ أَندَادًۭا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ رَبُّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Say, “Do you reject the One who created the earth in two days? And you attribute equals to Him? That is the Lord of the Universe.”

وَجَعَلَ فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ مِن فَوْقِهَا وَبَٰرَكَ فِيهَا وَقَدَّرَ فِيهَآ أَقْوَٰتَهَا فِىٓ أَرْبَعَةِ أَيَّامٍۢ سَوَآءًۭ لِّلسَّآئِلِينَ

He placed stabilizers over it; and blessed it; and planned its provisions in four days, equally to the seekers.
